Strange flashing lights seen on the Arizona horizon

One of the great things about a bohemian community like Oracle, Arizona, is that they know how to party.

While in Oracle this past year, we were fortunate enough to attend this strange event called GLOW. Held at the Triangle L Ranch, it's a mixture of lights, sounds, food, live music, and art installations that rank with the most bizarre. Mix into it the interesting Arizona landscape and you have something resembling burning man without the drugs and nudity. But it's fun all the same.

GLOW is an annual multimedia art extravaganza coinciding with the full moon. GLOW celebrates the work of dozens of visual and performance artists. Live music is featured on two stages. There are illuminated sculptures, light projections, installations and a gallery exhibition in the 1890's adobe barn. The entertainment line-up varies each evening, and the event takes places over a 3 day weekend. Attendees are encouraged to wear glow-in-the-dark attire and join in the GLOW-IN-THE-DARK HAT & FASHION CONTEST. Needless to say, we got our glow on.

Unfortunately we missed the ROBOT INVASION this year, but that's just fine... we hear they come back to this very spot every year, as per their programming instructions. We did catch the FLAMING PUMPKIN HEAD, though. That was quite nice. We gather that the Oracle community is proud of their eccentric nature. We're sure glad they are.
